Yamaha Pianos seven keys to a sound investment.
RETAILERS OF FINE PIANOS, DOMESTIC & IMPORTS, CONSOLES, GRANDS, DIGITAL PIANOS & KEYBOARDS.
Purchasing a piano can be intimidating. There are hundreds from which to choose, all at a variety of price points. And keeping track of the advantages and disadvantages can be mind-boggling. To the end, we've devised a process that can help you as you shop. It's called the "Seven Keys to a Sound Investment." These are the seven key points you should consider as you make your final choice. Most important in your decision: Look, listen and compare. Don't look at price first off.
Listen first. Then look. Then compare.
You're about to hear your family's life story. Listen carefully. Because it should sound absolutely beautiful.
Tone: For most people, tone is by far the most beautiful and lasting attribute of a piano. The only way you can determine tone is to listen. Play, or have the salesperson play the same short piece on every instrument you are considering. Hear the difference that Yamaha's spruce soundboard has to offer?
Touch: How do the keys feel? Are they silky? Do they glide? Are they responsive? Well-made piano keys invite-no-they beckon you to touch them. And, alluring as they may be, well-made keys are engineered to last a lifetime. Yamaha's keys are crafted to provide a full range of expression as well as decades of use. That's the perfect combination of form and function.
Tuning Stability: Let's face it. An out-of-tune piano is about as appealing as listening to an off-key singer. Nobody wants to do it. That's why we've engineered our pianos with beautiful spruce soundboards, cut-thread tuning pins and V-pro cast plates. So that once they're tuned, they stay that way. For a very, very long time.
Beauty: Who doesn't love the look of a grand piano? That said, who has the space for a grand piano? Right. But that doesn't mean a piano shouldn't be a beautiful addition to your home. It can-and should. To that end, do as they say in the automotive industry- a "walk-around." Is this piano inviting? Does it draw your attention? Are its keys appealing? Is the finish beautiful? Does it make you smile? Because it can sound like a million dollars, but if it doesn't look the part, it's not your baby.
Value: Are you getting your money's worth? Think about that very carefully. Your piano should last your lifetime, maybe more. Is its construction built to last? Has it been crafted for use? Has its wood been seasoned to withstand the rigors of its climate? Will it require frequent tuning? Are its keys stable and uniform? What may seem quite the the value today may seem quite costly venture tomorrow. It has never been more true that you get what you pay for than when you purchase a piano.
Image: You've found a piano that you love. It sounds fantastic. It's beautiful to behold. So who made it? Make sure that the manufacturer has been around -and will be around-for years to come. Never heard of them? Ask around. Piano teachers, technicians and tuners will give you their honest opinions of who's worthy and who's worthless. Read about your favorite entertainers. Whose instruments do they play and why? Upon whom do they rely?
Life: Upright or grand, a piano is a significant investment, and one that should not be entered into lightly. What service advantages does your piano manufacturer offer? Do they offer anything similar to Yamaha's exclusive ServiceBond Assurance Policy? Probably not. Our ServiceBond policy is not only extensive, it's reassuring. We're not here to just sell you a piano. We're here to ensure that you enjoy your piano. Big difference.
